Be careful outside, everyone. As you know, it is very icy and the ice may be here awhile until it can melt off. The side roads, especially in the country, are very icy, as are some of our side streets.
I am going to give a few tips that may help.
If your vehicle is sliding on the street and will not turn, let off the brake and put the vehicle in neutral. Lightly brake and let off and lightly brake again. If you can’t make your corner or turn, just keep going and go to the next turn-off. Always wear your seat belt. The biggest factor is to please slow down.
Do you have some free time on your hands and would like something to do? How about volunteering? There are plenty of opportunities out there.
One in particular is with our museums in town, the History Museum and the ITOW Veterans Museum. If you or someone you know might be interested, contact myself or the museums.
ITOW is looking for a director and being able to pay a big wage may be tough. Maybe someone out there would be interested, or two or three people could team up and help out.
The museum’s board of directors are open to ideas on how to raise money to fund the museums, and they are looking for people to serve on the board.
The group that currently is on the board is very involved and working very hard. If you have any ideas at all, please come forward, because any idea is a good idea.
Be careful out there and have a great week.
