Spring has officially sprung

By golly, I think spring is here.

I hope you all had a great week. It sounds like the weather was awesome. You may wonder why I say, “sounds like.” I was on vacation, so I wasn’t home to enjoy it, but it was very warm where I was and it was terrific.

The golf course is open, as of last Friday. Spring sports started already and the athletes are able to use the outdoor facilities. This is great. The baseball grandstand is almost completely torn down and we’re getting ready for a new one to be constructed. If you are interested in donating to this great cause, let me or someone on the committee know.

If you are interested in golfing, please stop out or call the Lakeside Golf Course and ask about the new membership rates, as there are different tier levels that may interest you.

The golf course sits on city land, but we do not manage the course, so we do not profit from the course or lose any money if for some reason there is a loss at the end of the year. The course has a board of directors that sets the fees and makes the budget, although the city does look at the budget and approve it.

On another note, the city of Perham has a Facebook page, and we would love to have all of you join us and be our friend – tell anyone else you think may be interested.

Enjoy the weather.
